Installing a refrigerated sliding door might seem straightforward at first, but if the assembly process is not followed correctly, it can lead to significant issues. Therefore, to make the job easier and ensure proper installation, we provide the steps to follow and the necessary tools to optimally install Kavidoors refrigerated doors.
What tools do we need?
- Electric screwdriver
- Jigsaw
- Screwdriver
- Polyurethane foam
- Ratchet wrench with 17 and 19 sockets
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Nylon hammer
- Toggle bolts
- Pin with nuts
- Drill bit no. 9 for panel penetration
- Screws
- Pencil
Step 1: Frame installation
First, we will install the frame. Mark the width and height measurements of the door on the panel using a pencil and a measuring tape. Then, cut the panel to the size of the refrigerated frame, leaving 3 cm more light on each side. Once we have the opening, proceed to place the frame in position. Use two clamps to secure the frame correctly. It is important to consider the levelling throughout the entire installation process of the sliding door and its components.
Step 2: Counterframe
Remove the covers from the counterframes for placement. Again, with the help of clamps and a nylon hammer, secure the counterframes in the corresponding place and check the levelling.
Step 3: Securing the frame and counterframe
Once installed, secure them together and then to the panel with the designated screws.
Step 4: Top guide
Before proceeding with the installation of the top guide, mark the fixing points for the guide where the toggle bolts will be located and drill. The finishes will need to be cut to size, adding 4 cm to the panel thickness. Once the finishes are cut to size, install the top guide. This will require two operators: one to hold the finishes in place and the other to screw them in. Insert the carriage into the guides and proceed to place the other part of the guide following the same procedure.
Step 5: Door leaf Attach the door leaf to the guide wheels
With the lower nuts of the support carriages, adjust the door leaf to its correct position. Once placed, check that it fits perfectly without allowing light to pass through the sides. If it does, continue adjusting it.
Step 6: Bottom stop Drill the holes where the bottom stop will be located
Once the holes are made, place the stop and screw it to the floor.
Step 7: Inject polyurethane foam into the counterframes
Step 8: Caps and guide covers Finally, install the caps on the counterframe and the guide cover.
By following these seven steps, you will have successfully installed the Kavidoors refrigerated sliding door. Below you can see a demonstration video of the installation of a lightweight sliding door for a cold storage room.
