Impact traffic doors
The impact traffic doors, made of PVC or injected materials, offer an effective solution for space partitioning, optimizing workflow and airflow control. Designed for high-traffic environments with positive temperatures, they combine strength, durability, and hygiene. Kavidoors offers two models: the injected swing door and the solid polyethylene or PVC swing door.

Applications and advantages
Industrial swing impact traffic doors are an effective solution for environments experiencing high traffic of people or materials. These doors are particularly useful where specific thermal insulation or rigorous airtightness is not required, making them ideal for kitchens, food industry access areas, and zones with constant two-way traffic.

Impact traffic doors allow free movement between adjacent spaces thanks to their ability to open in both directions and automatically return to the closed position without the need for handles or complex mechanisms. This makes them especially valuable in service and production environments where efficiency and speed are critical. Kitchen swing doors are particularly valued for their ease of use and cleaning in high-traffic, food-handling environments.
Industrial impact traffic doors offer a versatile and functional alternative in sectors such as agribusiness, supermarkets, and hospitality. With customizable RAL color finishes and additional protection options, they ensure optimal performance in demanding environments. Their robust and ergonomic design improves daily operations, enhancing worker safety and comfort.

FAQs about swinging doors
-
Which swing door do I need: injected or polyethylene?
The choice depends on the access dimensions and intended use. The injected swing door is suitable for larger openings, can be individually manufactured and may include a viewing window. Solid polyethylene is suited to medium or small openings, impact-prone areas, frequent washing and contact with corrosive substances. Traffic and cleaning requirements should also be considered.
-
What dimensions should a swing door have?
Dimensions should be based on the required clear opening and the size of people, carts or equipment passing through. The injected swing door allows up to 1,200 × 3,000 mm with one leaf and 2,400 × 3,000 mm with two. The polyethylene model allows up to 1,200 × 2,500 mm and 2,200 × 2,500 mm respectively. Load size, traffic and opening space must also be considered.
-
When should I choose a one- or two-leaf swing door?
One leaf is usually sufficient for pedestrian access or small carts. Two leaves are recommended when a wider opening is required, larger loads pass through or two-way traffic needs to be facilitated. Dividing the width between two leaves also reduces the space required by each leaf when opening. Visibility towards the opposite side should also be checked.
-
Which swing door is suitable for people, carts or forklifts?
For pedestrians, a lightweight door with a viewing window can be used. For carts or pallet trucks, an impact-resistant leaf and protection in impact areas are recommended, with polyethylene being particularly suitable. For forklift access, speed, vehicle weight, visibility and traffic intensity should be assessed, as a contactless automatic rapid door may be more appropriate.
-
Can a swing door be installed in a cold room?
Kavidoors swing doors are primarily designed for positive-temperature areas and can separate refrigerated areas when a completely airtight thermal closure is not required. They do not replace an insulated cold-room door. For freezing rooms, cold tunnels or significant temperature differences, a dedicated solution should be used, considering temperature, humidity, opening frequency and required tightness.
-
How much does an industrial swing door cost?
The price depends on dimensions, number of leaves, material, frame type and accessories. Viewing windows, special colours, impact protection and special hardware can also affect the cost. The price must therefore be calculated for each installation. To prepare an accurate quotation, the minimum requirements are opening width and height, traffic type and environmental conditions.
-
Are swing doors made to measure?
Yes. Swing doors can be adapted to the access dimensions within the technical limits of each model. To manufacture them correctly, the exact opening dimensions and characteristics of the supporting structure must be provided. This information makes it possible to define a configuration compatible with the available dimensions and the actual installation conditions.
-
Are swing doors suitable for food industry and frequent washing?
Yes. Swing doors are used in bakeries, cutting rooms, industrial kitchens, supermarkets and other food facilities where spaces must be separated while maintaining easy passage and suitable hygiene conditions. Resistant materials and easy-to-clean surfaces withstand frequent washing. Polyethylene is particularly suitable for humid, demanding environments or areas exposed to corrosive substances.
-
Can it be installed on a sandwich panel or existing opening?
Yes, provided the supporting structure has sufficient strength and the opening is properly prepared. Installation can be carried out using a frame and counterframe fixed to the panel. Level, plumb and square must be checked so the leaves return correctly to the centre. Before installation, dimensions, panel thickness and condition must be verified, along with any need for additional reinforcement.
-
What information is needed to request a swing door quotation?
It is advisable to provide opening width and height, wall or panel thickness and material, number of leaves, traffic type, load dimensions and passage frequency. Temperature, humidity, cleaning system and frequency, viewing window or protection requirements, colour or finish, opening photographs, installation location and country are also useful. This information helps define the model and required accessories.
